PodFavs Helps You Find Your Next Favorite Podcast

PodFavs is a community created for and by podcasters. Their mission is to help podcast listeners find their next favorite podcast. This might be very useful for people who are under “stay at home” orders during the COVID-19 pandemic, and who have already listened to all of the podcasts they downloaded before the crisis started.

We want people at a glance to see a new podcast, learn about new podcast, discover new podcast or be reminded of a podcast that has been forgotten. And with only a glance, our visitors should be able to see whether or not a podcast is worth the time investment. We also hope to connect the passion of podcasters with the passions of podcast listeners and enrich the lives of both. We’d like to provide “easy to understand” ratings for all visitors.

The unique thing about PodFavs is the way it rates podcasts. They continuously scour the internet and compiled a list of various podcasts that they then run through their formula that comes up with a total “temperature”. The formula weighs popularity and longevity and pairs that with classic dedication to the craft of podcasting.

Visit PodFavs to see a list of podcasts along with their “temperature” and whether they are trending up or down. You can also start by clicking on a category: Under My Roof, Culture Casts, Pod Money, Today’s World, Sports and Competition, and Crime and Punishment. Podcasters can submit their podcast to PodFavs by sending them an email.

Podcross Wants to Help Podcasters Promote Their Shows

Podcross believes that promoting your show on other podcasts is the best way to grow your audience. They want to help you to do that by providing marketing tips and more!

Podcross explains how it works this way:

This website is a tool for podcast producers to advertise and market their shows on other targeted podcasts. Producers can join the Podcross network for free to search, reach out and collaborate with other registered producers. Producers can also take it up a notch and pay to gain access to large audiences on some of the world’s biggest podcast networks via our PRO section. Podcross can also help you execute your trailer. Awesome, right?

To begin, a podcaster needs to fill out a form on the Podcross website. It asks for your podcast title, podcast genre, a summary of your podcast, the name of the producer of the podcast, contact details, number of listeners per episode, an ideal collaborator for cross-promotion, and your URL.

Pocross also has a page filled with tips from “people who know a thing or two.” Those tips come from: Discover Pods, Castos, Blubrry, Spreaker, and PodNews.

Rebel Base Media Introduced One-Click Sponsor Kits

Rebel Base Media has introduced one-click sponsor kits for Captivate users. They also have invited every Rebel Base Media podcaster into a very special and private Facebook group.

There isn’t a ton of information about one-click sponsoring on the Rebel Base Media blog post. But, sometimes, “short and to the point” will do! From the blog post:

This is something we’ve been wanting to do for a long time! Being growth focused means that our goal is to make it easier for you to achieve your own version of success as a podcaster. Knowing exactly how to work with sponsors is something that so many indie podcasters are concerned about and one of the vital, early-stage conversations with potential sponsors is around whether you’re both a good fit.

As of March 13, 2020, Rebel Base Media has made it easier for podcasters to start that conversation with sponsors by introducing the initial version of their one-click sponsor kits. Rebel Base Media podcasters can find it inside the marketing section of their Captivate dashboard. They will now see a “Sponsor kit” tab and space to enter their listener avatar.

Once done, hit the generation button and a beautiful PDF will download itself ready to send to sponsors. This is only the first version of this tool that Rebel Base Media is releasing. They would like you to lookout for more and more as they develop it.

Chartable Launched The Chartable Top 200

Chartable, the podcast analytics and attribution company, is pleased to announce the launch of the Chartable Top 200 podcast charts.

The Chartable Top 200 is the podcast industry’s first global, weekly industry chart, powered by Chartable’s IAB Tech Lab-certified analytics platform. The Top 200 ranks podcasts by audience size, while the Trending chart offers a view into which podcasts have made large gains in audience in the past week. The company is also launching over a dozen genre-specific charts, from Arts to True Crime, ranked on audience size.

Participating publishers at launch include NBC News, Wondery, and Vox Media, plus more than 4,000 independent creators and networks. In addition to a global chart, launch countries include the US, Brazil, India, and China, with more country-based charts launching in the near future.

“We are truly excited to offer a new set of charts to the podcast industry that go far beyond what’s currently available,” said Chartable cofounder and CEO Dave Zohrob. “Orur charts will help everyone in the podcasting world make better decisions – including indie publishers, large media companies, and both first-time and experienced advertisers. And we’re especially proud to offer unique insight into growing markets like Brazil and India.”

The Top 200 charts are live now. The new charts can be used by podcasters to see how they compare to their competition in their genre, as well as by advertisers and media-buying agencies to make buying decisions based on both current popularity and future trends via the Trending charts.

Publishers wishing to participate can opt-in for free by signing up for an account at chartable.com. Future updates will be published every Monday – sign up to receive them via email here.

SquadCast is Collaborating with Dolby

SquadCast announced a unique collaboration with Dolby to provide podcasters with the best audio experience possible.

We are collaborating with Dolby Laboratories, the innovative sight and sound company, to dissolve distance and bring the remote recording experience even closer to reality.

In the coming weeks, Dolby’s powerful spatialized audio technology will be enhancing the SquadCast platform connecting podcasters and guests to sonically feel – and sound like – they are recording in the same room.

“In the new normal that we all live in, high quality interaction and content are more critical than ever. We’re all hungering for intimate connections, and the content you all provide is what keeps us fed…

SquadCast’s mission is well aligned with Dolby’s – to obsessively provide better quality audio to creators worldwide…

When Zach and I first spoke about audio quality, he said that “SquadCast provides you with the highest quality original recording, like organic produce”…

At Dolby, we [can help] “wash that produce”, and for those that don’t like to cook, get you closer to a take out meal…

For those of you that do like to cook, you can leverage the functionality in SquadCast to get your audio dialed in so you can take it over from there…” – Sripal Metha, Senior Director of Dolby’s Media API Platform.

In May of 2020, several new features will be launched to the SquadCast platform, including:

Spatialized audio, that will make you and your guests sound and feel like you’re sonically in the same room while recording together

Enhanced audio mastering
, which will add post-production efficiency through automatic leveling, EQ, background noise reduction and more

Studio audience and listener experience features, offering audience engagement and live-streaming tools (coming later in 2020)

Screen sharing – yet another feature to create a more frictionless remote recording experience

The SquadCast Recording Engine is not changing. All new features are baked into their current pricing and there will be no additional cost for SquadCast customers. As features are added in the coming weeks, SquadCast Hosts will have the option of flipping a switch to get the added functionality when starting and scheduling new recording sessions.
