Jeff Brown, host of the Read to Lead podcast, has created a GoFundMe page titled: “Help Annie and Jeff Forget The Year That Was 2022”. Their goal is $50,000. At the time I am writing this, they have received $24,490.
From the GoFundMe:
…In February, Annie tested positive for COVID-19, and while she was able to recover from the virus itself, she’s been dealing with the lingering effects of long COVID ever since.
These effects have included difficulty breathing, extreme fatigue, and brain fog, among other symptoms. It impacted her ability to work for several months and required dozens of weekly doctor visits (we didn’t have insurance).
To make matters worse, Annie suffered a two-story fall in August and fractured her arm in two places. This required her to undergo a five-hour-long surgery. We had an accident policy on Annie but, up to this point, that policy has not covered one penny.
To put it bluntly, the medical bills are piling up. Not counting what we’ve already paid out of pocket, and what our church was kind enough to help with, our obligations exceed $60,000. Th original bill just for the arm surgery was over $100,000.
Jeff Brown wrote: “I am humbly reaching out to ask if you’d consider helping us with her medical expenses. Any amount, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way in helping us get through this difficult time.”
He also asks that people share the fundraiser, and I feel this is an appropriate place to post it. Those who can afford to help with Annie and Jeff’s GoFundMe can find the fundraiser here.
