Being a family means lending a helping hand to one another, and this year that matters more than ever. In that spirit, we must take care of each other and protect those who matter most.

Podcast Movement 2020 Announced New Dates

Podcast Movement 2020 will take place in Dallas, Texas. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the dates of the event have been changed. It will now be from Monday, October 19, through Thursday, October 22. This decision was made in order to prioritize the health and safety of attendees, sponsors, speakers, and staff.

Here are some key points from the newsletter:

  •  We hope that this is a welcome change for many of you, but are fully aware that it will be an unfortunate one for others, so we wanted to share with you why this decision is necessary after several weeks of serious discussion and consideration.
  •  We feel that August is too soon to hold the event safely. Even if cities and states were open for events by then, which is far from certain, we would not feel comfortable asking our speakers, sponsors, or attendees to travel to us until later.
  • The October dates give us an additional two months to monitor the containment and confirm that we can safely host the event, if, as the new date approaches, we feel as if we cannot do this, we will cancel the conference before putting anyone in harm’s way.

Those who have already registered for Podcast Movement 2020 will find detailed information in the newsletter about your options. You can transfer your registration to the new Podcast Movement 2020 October dates. You can covert your in-person pass to a PM20 virtual pass. Or, you can transfer your registration to Podcast Movement 2021, which will take place in August of 2021.

More details can be found in the newsletter, which also contains a link to an audio update.

Podcast Movement Shares its Plan for the Coronavirus

Podcast Movement has shared its plan for coronavirus in regards to the upcoming Podcast Movement 2020 in Dallas. This is information is being shared in order to help attendees, and the general community overall, understand what the situation means.

We understand there is significant concern about large gatherings such as conferences and trade shows, and with good reason. As the event approaches (still five months away), we are working closely with the venue, the City of Dallas, and our management team to monitor the situation and keep attendees abreast of the latest developments.

We have every reason to believe that we will be able to proceed with hosting PM20 in Dallas this August. We are eagerly planning for that. However, we also understand that no one can be certain of what is going to happen between now and August.

Podcast Movement provided possible outcomes:

As of now, the event will take place as planned. In the event this happens, anyone who is concerned about travel, or unable to travel, will have the option to participate virtually at no extra cost. This will not only include video records of all the sessions (post-event) but some level of streaming options as well.

If the event is postponed and rescheduled, registered attendees will be able to keep their ticket and use it at the rescheduled time, or will also have the option of applying their pass to a future event at 100% value.

If the event is canceled altogether, all pass purchases will be refunded in full.

Visit the Podcast Movement 2020 website for more information regarding Podcast Movement’s plan for PM20, as well as to keep up to date with any changes that may occur.

Podcast Movement Brings You Two Huge Events in 2020

For the first time ever, Podcast Movement is bringing you two huge events in 2020. One is called PM: Evolutions, and the other is Podcast Movement 2020.

PM: Evolutions will take place February 12-15, 2020, in Los Angeles, California, at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. Evolutions will put an increased focus on the ever changing landscape and latest trends of the industry, and deep dive those from every angle.

Featuring three distinctive tracks focused on the attendee’s unique place in podcasting (Industry Professional, Pro Podcaster, Hobbyist Podcaster), content will be tailored to provide the maximum, well-rounded, value for each focused group.

Evolutions is all about the changing landscape of the podcast industry. Whether you’re an industry professional, a full time podcaster, or a hobbyist creator, it’s important to know what is happening in the space around you. That’s where Evolutions comes in.

Like Podcast Movement, the education is at the center of the event, and it will be world class. Unlike Podcast Movement, all sessions will be based on new trends, technology or topics. Think of it as a deep dive into the latest and greatest, and a master class on what you need to know, and what you can let go.

Podcast Movement 2020 will take place August 5-8, 2020, in Dallas, Texas, at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. Join over 3,000 podcasters from around the world for over 200 educational sessions, the 100+ exhibitor trade show, and the best parties and networking opportunities in podcasting.

Featuring breakout sessions and panels spread across seven topic-focused tracks, Podcast Movement 2020 will once again be the world’s largest gathering of podcasters, and those involved in the podcast industry.

How are the two events different?

  • All sessions at Evolutions will be built around the industry’s evolution, versus more widespread topics at PM.
  • Evolutions education is divided into tracks based on who you are as an attendee, versus the actual topic type.
  • Evolutions will feature a more intimate environment than Podcast Movement. The event will be at roughly 1,000 attendees, spread across three tracks, and is expected to sell out before February arrives.
  • Evolutions will mark the return of the Academy of Podcasters Hall of Fame.
