The Podcast Show 2023 In London Announces Preview Night Line-Up

The Podcast Show, the biggest international festival for the business of podcasting, is back for a second year. This one-of-a-kind event is open to industry professionals, independent podcast creators, business leaders, emerging talent and fans alike, and will see the podcast community gather at The Business Design Centre in Islington, London. Day and night, thousands of visitors are expected from around the world, with visitors from over 35 countries already represented.

For the first time, a special Preview Night will take place on Tuesday 23rd May, 6pm until 9pm. Ticket-holders will be the first people to enter the Business Design Centre and walk the show floor – they’ll get a sneak preview of the activations and exhibitions ahead of the doors opening to the public the following day, as well as some complementary drinks, music, networking opportunities, and the chance to share the floor with some of the biggest names in the industry.

Nihal Arthanayke, UK radio and TV presenter, will host the evening. Fearne Cotton (Broadcaster and Founder, Happy Place) will present the inaugural International Podcast Trailblazer Award to Ashley Flowers, recognizing the global impact she has made on the podcast industry. Flowers hosts the #1 true crime podcast Crime Junkie, and is the founder and chief creative officer of audiochuck, one of the top media and podcasting companies in the world, generating over 2 billion downloads with listeners in over 170 countries. Flowers said –

YouTube MD, Alison Lomax, To Speak at The Podcast Show

Listen announced YouTube Managing Director UK & Ireland, Alison Lomax, will attend The Podcast Show in London on 24th May. Following YouTube’s March announcement at Hot Pod Summit, that podcasts are coming to YouTube Music, Lomax has confirmed she will feature on one of the five panels hosted by Listen and Arcade: as YouTube’s only presence that day.

Day and night, thousands of visitors are expected from around the world, with visitors from 25 countries already represented.

Headline partners for The Show this coming May are Acast and Amazon Music and Wondery. As well as brining well-loved voices from its extensive network, Acast will offer podcasters and advertisers a “choose your own adventure” – style experience, to learn how the creator economy in podcasting can work for them. Amazon Music and Wondery will be hosting their own exclusive sessions across the two days as well as delivering, for the second year, an Amazon Music and Wondery branded activation on the main show floor. This year, the show has partnered with YMU Entertainment, (a division of leading global talent group YMU), who will be taking part in the Preview Night, as well as taking over The Origin Theater between 9:30am and 12:30pm on both show days. The division will be showcasing – and in conversation with – their clients including Fearne Cotton, Gabby Lopez, Giovanna Fletcher, Cel Spellman, Raphael Rowe, and Jack Harries and key members of the YMU Entertainment leadership team.

On Day One, The Rise Up Stage will be presented in partnership with Listen and Arcade Media. Their talks will focus on what the podcast industry can learn from the creator economy. This year, The Show will also launch its inaugural International Podcast Trailblazer Award, recognizing an individual who has made a global impact on the podcast industry. This will be announced at the Preview Night in the Business Design Centre on 23rd May, 7:30pm. Soon to be announced is the Industry Advisory Panel, a group of key influential players from across the industry, which will ensure the festival caters to the international podcast community. The Podcast Show LIVE will host a week-long podcast festival promoted by TEG Live Europe. The evening shows will take place around London from 22-28 May, celebrating world-class talent and bringing some favourite voices to the stage. The Podcast Show 2023 To Return To Islington, London In May

The Podcast Show, the biggest international festival for the business of podcasting, is back for a second year following the success of 2022’s inaugural show. This one-of-a-kind event is open to industry professionals, independent podcast creators, business leaders, emerging talent and fans alike. The aim is to celebrate podcasting, support new creators, help shape the future of podcasting, and get business done. The festival will take place across two days at The Business Design Centre in Islington, London, on 24 & 25 May 2023, in the heart of the city’s media district.

In May 2022, the show brought together over 9,500 visitors (day and night) from the audio and broadcast industry, from every corner of the globe, to learn, do business and network. It was an international celebration the industry, with visitors from 28 countries, including the US, Sweden, Norway, Australia, Canada, Spain, Denmark, and Brazil. 2023 promises tome no different, with 48% of confirmed partners and speakers coming from outside of the UK.

The show delivered some of the most recognizable faces in podcasting including Louis Theroux, Emily Maitlis, Gary Lineker, Annie MacManus, Dr Rangan Chatterjee, The Receipts, Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo, through to leading players in the business. This year, The Podcast Show is bigger and more ambitious – with more live shows, more networking opportunities, more content, and more of the biggest names in the industry.

Headline partners are Acast and Amazon Music and Wondery. Acast will present a new version of The Creators Corner, allowing independent creators and advertisers to take the first steps in podcast advertising and monetisation. Attendees can hear from key figures in the industry, as well as interact with show partners and their commissioners to network, learn and absorb. They’ll also host The Studio Stage, a space for big talks with industry players and renowned talent.

Amazon Music and Wondery will once again present The Amplify Theater, in association with IAB UK, showcasing everything from global industry players to the industry’s hottest topics. They’ll be hosting their own exclusive sessions across the two days as well as delivering, for the second year, an Amazon Music and Wonder branded activation on the main floor.
